Perhaps the finest example of what happens when you design a ship that no one wants, the Cameron class was meant to be a fast cruiser hunter, capable of running down smaller ships whilst also worrying larger vessels.  Designed by an inexperienced shipbuilder who had never built a ship of this scale before, the Cameron design quickly went over budget.  She also grew by an extra 50,000 tonnes whilst her engines were not updated to adjust for this new mass.

Whilst her builders and those who had sponsored the ship knew of these flaws and the rapidly spiraling costs, 40 were approved for production.  At least the design was tough and packed a formidable punch, but they were far slower than intended and when the SLS St Joan was lost due to an electrical fault, the class was banished to the backwaters.

Ironically, this saved the class, and many survived the Amaris Civil War and would be seen centuries later in the colours of the Clans, their electrical gremins finally fixed.
